Frequently asked questions

What to know before using TickerHoof

Clear answers about the product, its limits and the controls available to you.

What is TickerHoof?

TickerHoof is a subscription research tool that presents model-generated market observations with confidence, rationale, risk and a defined assessment horizon.

Does TickerHoof tell me exactly what to buy or sell?

No. The service is designed as a research input and is not intended to be a personal recommendation. It does not know your full financial circumstances, objectives, tax position or capacity for loss.

Does it trade automatically?

No. TickerHoof does not place, cancel or modify brokerage orders.

What does the confidence score mean?

It represents the model's assessed strength and consistency of the available evidence. It is not a guarantee, a promised return or a precise probability that a trade will be profitable.

Can the model be wrong?

Yes. Models can misinterpret data, miss events, use delayed information or fail when market conditions change. Always verify current information independently.

How are observations measured?

A published observation can retain its reference price and stated horizon. After that horizon, its outcome can be scored consistently and included in model-performance reporting.

Do I need an Alpaca account?

No. Alpaca is optional and is used only to add read-only portfolio context for supported accounts.

Can TickerHoof access my Alpaca trades or withdrawals?

The integration is designed not to request order execution, transfer or withdrawal permissions. Check the permissions shown by Alpaca before approving any connection.

Why is MFA required?

Stock research and linked portfolio information can be sensitive. MFA reduces the risk that a stolen password alone gives someone access to your account.

Where are payments handled?

Subscription checkout and billing management are handled through Stripe. TickerHoof is designed not to store full card details.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes. Use the billing settings or Stripe billing portal. Unless the checkout terms say otherwise, access usually continues until the end of the current paid period.

Can I delete my account?

Account settings are designed to provide a closure request. Some records may be retained where required for security, accounting, dispute handling or legal obligations.

Is TickerHoof suitable for beginners?

The explanations are written to be understandable, but investing still requires knowledge of risk. A regulated financial adviser may be appropriate where you need advice tailored to you.
